The Best Ideas for Outdoor Halloween Decorations
79Prepare to Scare...
On Halloween, I always enjoy walking around our neighbourhood and appreciating all the spooky and outrageous outdoor Halloween decorations.
With anything from spine-chilling skeletons hanging from the garage to over-the-top inflatable pumpkins sitting on the lawn, it’s always a contest to see whose Halloween yard decorations are the most impressive!
If you’re looking for some Halloween decoration ideas this season, then here are my top picks for the absolute best outdoor Halloween decorations that are fun, outrageous, and splendidly scary.
Sinister Skull With Halloween Lantern
Imagine having this menacing guy greet your trick-or-treaters on Halloween!
Of all the Halloween lanterns I have seen, this one is by far the coolest.
The Sinister Skull makes an awesome outdoor Halloween decoration because you can place him near on your garden path or on your front lawn, and it appears as though he is emerging from the ground to give your visitors an ominous welcome.
Kids will just love this spooky and bright Halloween lantern; measuring 11” x 6 ½” x 13” it is not too big and so will compliment your other Halloween yard decorations perfectly.
Takes two AA batteries.
Giant Creepy Cloth Spider
Who isn’t freaked out by giant creepy spiders?
This enormous eight-legged monster is sure to catch anyone off guard, especially if its dangling cloth happens to lightly brush a trick-or-treater’s shoulder as they walk by. Add fright and excitement with an outdoor Halloween decoration that requires no assembly, just hang it up!
Extending a massive 4 feet you can literally hang up this impressive outdoor Halloween decoration anywhere you want to creep out your visitors; it is sure to make the hairs stand up on the back of their necks.
Not for children under 3 years.
2 Skeleton Flamingo Lawn Ornaments
I love the uniqueness of these outdoor Halloween decorations.
These two plastic flamingos feature painted-on bones that glow in the dark! Just let them sit under bright light for several minutes before placing them out on the yard at night, and these guys will be sure to have passers-by turning their heads.
If you’re looking for Halloween decoration ideas that are “a bit different” then a pair of skelamingos will probably do the trick! This set requires a little easy assembly first. Once assembled, you will get one long neck measuring 30” and one short neck measuring 27” tall.
Spooky Skeleton Body Parts
The ultimate Halloween yard decoration has to be a scattering of spooky skeleton body parts on the front lawn. How about conveniently positioning these bones so that your visitors have to cautiously step over them as they approach the front door?
This awesome outdoor Halloween decoration also doubles up as a Halloween lantern because the skeleton’s head lights up! Get the whole family involved and have some fun assembling the body parts; just pop together his arm and legs and insert 2 AA batteries into his skull. Hey presto, an outdoor Halloween decoration that will grab everyone’s attention.
For children 10 years and up.
8ft Airblown Inflatable Halloween Graveyard
For the best WOW factor on the block this Halloween, this 8ft Airblown Inflatable Halloween Graveyard will certainly impress and intrigue your visitors.
It self-inflates in just seconds, making it very simple to set up and display. The internal glowing lights create a spooky graveyard ambiance that is eerie and amusing for children and adults alike, and will provide much enjoyment for the family this Halloween.
This Halloween outdoor decoration is so simple to store for next year; simply unplug to deflate and then fold away.
Garden Zombie
No Halloween is complete without a Garden Zombie!
This hair-raising garden sculpture is remarkably creepy; it is a life-sized statue that will shock your trick-or-treaters as he appears to raise himself up out of your bedding plants, threatening to feast on their brains.
If you’re looking for bloodcurdling Halloween decoration ideas to frighten and shock anyone approaching then the Garden Zombie will be sure to achieve your goal. The detail on the Garden Zombie is so remarkable that he is guaranteed to scare away any trespasser.
In just seconds you will have your corpse fully assembled and positioned; all you have to do is wait for the screams...
Did You Know...
The word Halloween comes from from the term "All Hallows Eve" which took place on October 31st, and marked the end of summer in Northwestern Europe.
"All Hallows Day" or "All Saints Day," was the next Day, November 1st , putting Halloween on the eve of All Saints Day.

Hi Cloverleaf, what a great fun and spooky hub! I love your layout and display, those minature pumpkins are cute!
All these decorations are fantastic, my favourite is the Spooky Skeleton Body Parts - it's very realistic!
Brill, thanks for sharing x
Halloween is my favorite holiday, it's for kids of all ages. I prefer the fun decorations over the spooky, eerie ones. Spooktacular hub Cloverleaf!!!
A spendidly written hub. I've never seen skeleton flamingoes. What a hoot! The skeleton featured in my "drought man" article was a halloween decoration used very uniquely. Great hub.
I don't "do" Halloween but I love flamingos and must have those skeleton babies. They are adorable. The rest are interesting but too much for our sensibilities here in Tiny Town. laugh
Another great Hub from the indomitable Cloverleaf!
I love halloween and I'm seriously considering the Skeleton Lawn Flamingos...love them!
My favorites are the Sinister Skull with Lattern and Skeleton Flamingo Lawn Ornaments. This is a really great hub and voted up!
I live in New Zealand and have cellebrated All hallows eve for many years ... sadly not many people do here ... I absolutelt love the skelleton lantern.

Susie's comment freaked me out, too! Nicely done. I don't do a lot of Halloween decorating myself (I get into Christmas more) but I do enjoy seeing neat decorations up around the neighborhood. Now that we have our own house, we will at least put out a few pumpkins this year.
Very cool decor for Halloween! Thanks for sharing it with us, but around the area I live, I think they would get messed with. But what a neat concept. I loved it anyway. Well...maybe not the cloth spider? I hate spiders! lol!
The Garden Zombie would certainly freak me out. I would keep him in my garden all year round, keeping unwanted guests far away, LoL! Great hub, voted up!

Halloween must be fantastic your side of the world, it's not really celebrated much here. It must be so much fun with parents being involved too.
I love those Flamingos.
Great hub
Cool ideas! I have eight grandkids, so we love decorating for Halloween. Voted up!
These are definitely some great outdoor Halloween decorations ideas. Enjoyed this hub and voted up!
An awesome review full of conjured memories. Old Ichabod Crane is still a spooky story for reading this time of year. I'm going to toss and turn what to do this year. Thanks for the many ideas.
This is a great Hub with awesome ideas! I am linking to it in my Halloween Hub! My sister decorates her yard every year. I will share this with her! Voting Up and Sharing. Great job and thank you!

I love the skeletons! They are so cool and spooky! I also like the idea of a blow up Halloween graveyard. I can imagine having my skeletons and the graveyard together in the front garden!
These are really unusual ideas - just hope the nieces and nephews won't be too spooked to visit!
Great hub!
Wowee. they's some scary ones here!
wow, neat decorations!
Great decorations! Someone in our neighborhood has a blow-up graveyard archway complete with lamp lights on either side of the pillars. Of course, there are the requisite grave markers and iridescent hands and feet sticking out of the ground.
I love the flamingos - what a hoot! Overall, I have to admit I enjoy the not so spooky decorations, especially for the little ones; guess that's another reason I love Walt Disney World's "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" which I know has been renamed to Mickey's Halloween. It's great fun - and of course, you have all the Disney villains out in all their glory!
[voted up, interesting and awesome - for sure!]
Wow, Cloverleaf, this hub is right up there with the very best! Maybe even better than. So easy to follow and so informative, great looking and so much fun. I love it! Pushing up and across! You deserve it.
Love the skeleton flamingos!! I'm not a huge fan of the gruesome Halloween decorations (or costumes), but I love decorating for the holiday with fun, less "scary" items. Totally awesome hub! Looking forward to Halloween next week. :) Steph
Way to go, ghoul...er, girl! Your funloving "spirit" really shines through in this one - voted "eep!"
Cool ideas!, cool pictures!, enjoyed going through your hub. I just love those Halloween decorations, but sad that in our place Halloween is not at all celebrated. Thanks for sharing, vote ^^^ and interesting.
By far my favourite one has to be the skeleton lantern, as I think if it could like move when people pass my lawn, it would be an amazing scare for everyone! Hopefully no one will get so scared that they beat it up... Happy Halloween!

Okay, Cloverleaf. Now you've got me spooked.(: I knew of people who lived in a small town in NY who wrote down the name of every "trick or treater" that came to their door. They were an elderly couple who had been doing it for years. Kids would come to the door, tell them their name, and the sweet little wife would say, "Oh, look, here is your daddy's name. He came here when he was about your age!" I've never forgotten them.
